The Gospel of Matthew present's Jesus teachings in 5 main blocks, this is reminiscent to the 5 books of the Torah, thus showing how Jesus is the greater Moses to the Jewish Audience.

The 5 main blocks of teaching (Discourse) are preceded by 5 blocks of stories (Narratives) of what Jesus said and did on the road, answering questions others may have, giving instructions on various topics.

This is then concluded in the final command of Jesus, to Go and Make Disciples, Baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Spirit, teaching them to obey all that Jesus had commanded.
