While the return of Christ brings an end to the rebellious reign of man, it is specifically Christ taking his place on the throne of David that sets into motion His reign on the earth and the consummation of all things. Adam’s reign in the garden ended in colossal failure, while Christ’s reign in Jerusalem will “make all things new.” While many try to place the throne of David in heaven, it is an earthly throne destined for an earthly re-creation. Every Christian should long for the day when the Son of David will sit on David’s throne!
