New Is Not Always Better, but Sometimes It Is
Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, John 13

The institution of the Lord’s Supper is a powerful and significant event. It is as significant, for instance, as Israel moving from the Tabernacle to the Temple. Each of these events kind of burst on the page of faith’s book. Because of this, they command our interest and inquiry.

1. The Passover. When the Angel of Death passes through the land and you are set free, you remember it.

2. The Feast of Unleavened Bread. When every item on the table means something, do not miss the symbolism.

3. The New Covenant. When the Son of God uses the terms Covenant and New, pay attention.

4. Communion/The Lord’s Supper. When asked to remember, remember what was asked.
