Eccl 5:8-20 - King Solomon gives broken people directives on happiness in this sinful world.
1. No despair: Mankind’s attempts to solve mankind’s problems is a disappointment (5:8-9)
2. No despair: Mankind’s love of money will never satisfy mankind’s deepest longings (5:10-17)
a. V11 it attracts leeches
b. V12 it brings sleepless nights
c. Vv13-14 the getting is painful
d. Vv15-16 you can’t take it with you (Job 1:21; Ps 49:17; 1 Tim 6:7)
e. V17 the love of money leads to a dark place
