Luke 8:4-8
While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: 5“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. 6Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”
Tongue
When he said this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

Luke 8:11-15
11“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

Many read this and understand that
1. the devil can take the word from your heart
2. Rocky soil people receive word with joy but then fall away; lose salvation
3. Thorny people have heard but life gets to them, they bear no fruit, apparently walk away
4. Good soil people heard the word in an honest and good heart, hold it fast, bear lots of fruit so they must be saved.

If a Christian believes the above is still applicable then they may worry whether they are really saved and whether they can remain saved.

Reality check:
Jesus said these things to people still living under the law.
Being saved under the law was possible through faith – faith generated in self NOT FAITH IN JESUS
Habakkuk 2:4
4"Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith.

However, done under own personal commitment; own will power; own strength; no guarantees
A person is saved cannot lose one’s salvation
Last point, hold it fast, bear lots of fruit will be saved.

Under Age of Grace these things are not correct. Jesus was not talking to us here.

1. Not one saved person in Age of Grace was ever saved of own initiative. GOD always the initiator. Satan is simply not powerful enough to prevent one from being saved although can surely complicate things.

2. if one seems to receive the word with joy but then fall away; never saved in first place

3. Thorny people saved; bear no fruit; still saved. Not dependent on their own strength.

4. Generating lots of fruit is not a necessary prerequisite to being saved. Likely but not required.

HAVE FAITH salvation is given to you by God; you cannot lose it.

This parable and its interpretation is obviously 100% correct but was only directed to people under the law.

UNDERSTAND THAT FAITH IN THE GREEK IS A 3 LEVEL SYNONYM MEANING
BELIEVE FACTS
TRUST THE FACTS; HAVE FAITH IN THE FACTS.
