Part 2 of the passage 1 Timothy 6:9-12

In the last video, we learned the first part of this passage:
1 Timothy 6:9-10
9. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Today, we learn the second part:
1 Timothy 6:11-12
11. But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12. Fight the good fight of the faith.

I like this passage because it gives us some more concrete ways that we can keep our eyes on God and not on this world. When we realize that our wealth is not nearly as important as our eternity, we can be okay with it and okay without it.

I also love the second part that shows us exactly what we can focus on instead of money and other earthly things. These very practical verses help me on a daily basis to continually following God's will for my life instead of what the world says. And isn't that what our lives as Christians should be about?
