Welcome to St. Mary’s Baptist Church. St. Mary’s Baptist Church was founded in Washington, D.C. in 1950 as “the church where everybody is somebody and Jesus Christ is Lord.” Although our goal of winning souls for Christ has not changed throughout our history, our approach has been renewed through Matthew 28:19-20:
(19) Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” “Amen.”
We seek to worship God by reaching outside of the walls of the church building and being a blessing to those around us. Today we live by this mission: “Loving God, Serving His Community Through Christ.”
