Blessings and Peace Everyone,
Today's verse comes from Galatians 5:24
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Because we belong to Christ Jesus we have put away the works of the flesh and walk within the spirit. The key word in this verse is "it's" because there is a distinction between what desires and passions we have crucified and that would be the flesh. This lets us know that the desires and passions of the flesh are things that keep us away from the love of God and it is written what can separate us from the love of God, not death or life and most certainly not the flesh. We are of His spirit as He has breathed life into us. Every breath that we take we are a part of His essence and we are reminded that we are only in this world for a short time to for-fill a purpose. This isn't to say that we will not have passion and desire because it is written in Psalms 21:2 : you have granted him his hearts desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. We should focus on the desires that help us grow spiritually that our connection with the Lord becomes stronger .
