Join me live for our next Text Reading, which will include texts from Psalm 1 and from Psalm 2 that I have translated to date, according to the Hebrew (H) and Greek (G) texts. These texts include Psalm 1:1-6 and Psalm 2:1-2. Here is my translation of these texts which we will read and discuss:

Chapter 1 (Hebrew)
(H) 1 Happy is the one who has not come into the counsel of those with wicked [or, "hostile"] intentions; happy is the one who has not stood by the roadway traveled by those who intentionally practice sin; and happy is the one who has not lived in the home of those who show contempt for others.
(H) 2 For his desire is for the Law of Jaho(h)-ah, and with his Law he will speak to himself day and night.
(H) 3 The one who does this will become like a tree that was planted above flowing river waters: The tree will give forth its fruit in its own time and its leaves will not fade, and everything the person who is like this tree does will become prosperous.
(H) 4 The wicked ones are different [than as described in verses 1-3], for they are like debris that is being blown about by wind.
(H) 5 For this reason wicked people will not stand in the judgment, nor will sinners stand in the gathering of righteous people.
(H) 6 Because Jaho(h)-ah knows the road traveled by righteous people, but the road traveled by wicked people will come to an end.

Chapter 1 (Greek LXX)
(G) 1 Happy is the one who has not been made to live by the counsel of those who are without God, and who has not come to live in the way of sinners, and who has not sat upon the chair of those who cause trouble.
(G) 2 Instead, this one's desire is in the Law of Lord [Jaho(h)-ah], and day and night he will think deeply about it.
(G) 3 And this one will become like the tree that has been planted alongside channels of waters, which will give forth its fruit at the right time and its leafage will not fall, and as many things as this one may do all of them will bear fruit [or, "prosper"].
(G) 4 Wicked people [or, "Those without fear of God"] are not like that [see verses 1-3], no, not at all. Rather, they are like the powdery dust which the wind blows up from the surface of the ground.
(G) 5 For this reason wicked people will not stand in judgment, nor will sinners stand in the council of righteous people.
(G) 6 Because Lord [Jaho(h)-ah] knows the path of righteous people, but the path of wicked people will be destroyed.

Chapter 2 (Hebrew)
(H) 1 Why have nations been in total confusion, and why are they complaining about vanity?
(H) 2 The kings of the earth have positioned themselves and those ruling have sat together, united against Jaho(h)-ah and against his chosen one.

Chapter 2 (Greek LXX)
(G) 1 For what reason were nations arrogant, and why did people care so much about vanity?
(G) 2 The kings of the earth stood in attendance and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord [Jaho(h)-ah] himself, and against his Christ (musical period).
