Blessed are we whose hope shall be in your help, O Lord our God!
You have spoken our skies and lands and seas;
you have spoken all life that dwells in these;
your Word of Life you ever keep: oh blessed, oh blessed are we!
Blessed are we whose hope shall be in your help, O Lord our God!
You give justice to all who are oppressed;
you give bread to all who hunger for righteousness.
Our Lord sets captive people free: oh blessed, oh blessed are we!
Blessed are we whose hope shall be in your help, O Lord our God!
You delight, O Lord, to make our senses see
what good hope our vision had lacked formerly.
O Lord, you raise our bended knee: oh blessed, oh blessed are we!
Blessed are we whose hope shall be in your help, O Lord our God!
You love saints and care for strangers all the same;
you sustain us as one fam’ly in your name
that wickedness shall cease to be: oh blessed, oh blessed, are we!
