Join me live for our next Text Reading, Psalm 8:1-10 according to the Hebrew (H) and Greek (G) texts. Here is my translation of these texts which we will read and discuss:

Chapter 8 (Hebrew)
(H) 1 From the one who is director over the music, a melody belonging to David:
(H) 2 "Jaho(h)-ah, my Lord, how magnificent your name must be throughout the earth, since your magnificence must be set even upon the sky heavens.
(H) 3 Because of the mouth of children, even those still nursing, you established strength in order to stop the one causing ruin and the one seeking revenge.
(H) 4 For when I see your sky heavens, works of your fingers, a moon and stars which you have firmly set in place,
(H) 5 What is humankind so that you will remember us, and a son of Adam that you will even consider him?
(H) 6 You make it so he lacks a little in comparison to gods [Hebrew: ’elohim], and you will crown him with honor and with glory.
(H) 7 You make it so he rules among the works of your hands; everything you have firmly set in place beneath his feet:
(H) 8 Flocks of sheep; herds of animals (all of them); even the large animal of the field;
(H) 9 the bird of sky heavens; fish of the ocean; and creatures passing over the ways of the seas.
(H) 10 Jaho(h)-ah, our Lord, how majestic your name is in all the earth!

Chapter 8 (Greek)
(G) 1 To the finish, on behalf of the wine presses, a song belonging to David.
(G) 2 Lord [Jaho(h)-ah], our Lord, how marvelous your name is in all the earth, since your magnificence was lifted high up above the sky heavens!
(G) 3 From a mouth belonging to infant children and to those who are still nursing you prepared praise on account of your enemies, to destroy the enemy and the one taking revenge.
(G) 4 For I will look upon the sky heavens, works of your fingers, a moon and stars which you firmly set in place.
(G) 5 What is man that you remember him, or a son of man that you look after him?
(G) 6 You made him little in a certain way in comparison to angels, with glory and with honor you crowned him.
(G) 7 Further, you placed him over the works of your hands; you put everything in subjection beneath his feet:
(G) 8 Sheep and cattle, everything [Greek: pasas], also including the animals of the fertile plain,
(G) 9 the birds of the sky heaven, and the fish of the ocean, the ones traveling across the known paths of the seas.
(G) 10 Lord [Jaho(h)-ah], our Lord, how marvelous your name is in all the earth!
