Psalm 89:15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.

What is "the joyful sound"? There are many sounds that can bring joy to our hearts. For a farmer: the sound of rain or for a woman in labour: a crying child. However, scripturally, joy come from receiving Christ. From the moment of his birth (John 16:21), the woman (his people), no longer sorrowed but entered into perpetual joy. ????Joy to the world, the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King ????

1 Thessalonians 1:8 For from you *sounded out the word of the Lord* not only in Macedonia and Achaia....

Romans 10:17-18 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. [18] But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, *their sound went into all the earth*.....

When we preach the word (Christ) to the world, that is or rather, he is the joyful sound. Everyone who knows to this sound is blessed and will walk in the light of his countenance as the psalmist declares. Selah!
