Psalm 89:23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
God is making a promise to "beat down his foes" & "plague" them. The "his" is a reference to David but prophetically Christ and his people. So he will "beat down" our foes & plague them!
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Why would God "beat down & plague" those of our household? Consider this: Before you joined the *household of faith* you belonged to a different household.. and the strongman/husband/father of that household was the devil. Christ brought freedom from that household by "beating down" the strongman.
Now, to bring freedom to those still in the "household of darkness", Christ in you will continue to "beating down & plague" that house, for freedom sake.
The beat down or plague is not for our natural father, mother, or siblings. God wants to save them and does so by sharing licks on the house of dark that has them captive. Note the answer given to the question of salvation:
Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Freedom comes to you, and then through you. Those who hate Christ are not our enemy, but they are in the household of the enemy. And God plagues that house (Rev18:4), as he did Egypt, for freedom sake. Selah.
