Psalm 89:28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

What is the covenant of God that will "stand fast" with us (those who trust in him)?

Ezekiel 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

God dwelling with us, that's the agreement/covenant. And Emmanuel (Jesus), which means "God with us", is the fulfillment of that covenant promise. When we are "standing fast" in the liberty of Christ (Gal 5:1), we are *standing fast* in the covenant as declared by the psalmist. And to stand in that covenant, to stand in him, is to stand on the rock. For through him, no longer do we "stand in the way of sinners" (Psalm 1:1), which is standing in death. We now stand in freedom, in mercy, in grace, in Life. So stand fast.
