Welcome to our Sunday service. We continue our series in 1 Thessalonians today.

In this long passage Paul defends his ministry in Thessalonica against those who seek to discredit it. These are people outside of the church trying to discredit Paul, not congregation members, who feel that Paul has exploited or abandoned them. However in the process Paul gives us a great checklist for identifying authentic ministry. The key to Paul’s thinking is that ministry is God at work through those who serve – a conviction which both humbles and empowers Paul as it should us.
