When David was overwhelmed by His enemies, he chose to cry out to God for deliverance. While the battle is raging, David focused his mind on how God had delivered him in the past and encouraged himself in the Lord.

Like David, we can uplift our spirits by choosing to praise God in the midst of trouble and trusting God to deliver us once again. “He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.” (Job 5:19)

God is full of compassion and mercy and we can plead for His lovingkindness to be upon us. “The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.” (Psalm 145:8)

If it is sin that has affected our fellowship with God, we know that when we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us from all unrighteousness and restore to us the joy of our fellowship with Him again (1John 1:9).

Only God can help us to walk in His ways of righteousness. God the Holy Spirit will guide us to walk in His ways as we study the Bible and pray. The Word of God is the Light to our path and the Sword of the Spirit (Psalm 119:105, Ephesians 6:17); it is our souls’ daily bread and sustenance. “...Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

Keep walking with the Lord all your days, keep trusting in His Word everyday, keep watching and praying till the Lord comes again!
