Life, and the trials and tribulations it brings, often makes remembering God's goodness to us difficult.

On the pages of Deuteronomy, we see something totally unique and different than what we see in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers. While Genesis recounts the creation story and sets in motion God’s plan for man - Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers are considered “technical books” belonging in a special way to the priests and Levites, however, Deuteronomy was written for everyone.

In this message we dive deep into Deuteronomy 8:1-20 a passage chock full of essential life transforming truth that is worth our time and attention.

In chapter 8, Moses is in the middle of the second of three messages he leaves the Jewish people before he is about to pass on and hand the baton of leadership over to his protégé, Joshua.

Up to this point in their journey God’s people had been nomadic wonderers in the wilderness for nearly four full decades. But now they were on the threshold of entering their Promised Land and becoming a settled nation.

Although they had been promised the land there would be battles to fight, and they would need to be prepared.

A famous philosopher once said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Moses wanted the people to learn from their mistakes and to remember who God was and what He had done for them in the past. Their challenge from Moses in this message was remembering God’s goodness.

Something we too are called to remember!
