What did God create on the first day? Light! God made light to be different from darkness. Spiritually, we usually think of blessings from God and the good news of Jesus as being light. These things are separate from the darkness that often plagues our lives. Maybe you come to worship today with a spring in your step. Maybe you come to worship today carrying a heavy load of sorrow, worry, shame, or guilt. Regardless, it is a good thing that you are here, because today we will marvel at the great light that God has shined on us. We find that light as we open God's Word and as we direct our thoughts on His Son. May God bless your time in God's house
