Pastor Chad Laird studies the account of Lazarus' death and subsequent resurrection by Jesus in John chapter 11. Several points are addressed in this sermons outline:

1. John 11:1-3 - Emergency: Lazarus is Dying.
2. John 11:4 - Surprise Statement of the 1st Responder: This is for God’s glory.
3. John 11:5-6 - Slow Response Time: Jesus delays two full days.
4. John 11:7-16 - Cautious but Courageous Crew Members: Are you sure you want to go back to Judea where they are trying to kill you?
5. John 11:17-27 - Arrival but 4 days too Late...Or is it?
Application – Jesus asks each of us - Do you believe this?

This account of Lazarus certainly begs the question "Why does God allow sickness and death?" Pastor Chad notes that sickness and death is first and foremost an outcome of God's perfect justice and man's sin, however, is also used by God for His glory and as a means to carry out His will.
