Press On Faith

Hebrews 11:1-3, 6: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

What biblical faith is NOT:
Biblical faith is NOT a blind leap in the dark. God left us evidence about creation so that our faith would not be a blind leap.

Biblical faith is NOT the ability to manipulate God. We can not presume that God must do what we say. Biblical faith believes that God will do what He says.

Biblical faith does not adhere to a list of rules and traditions that are based on scripture. Ex. The Pharisees.

False faith will crumble!

Biblical faith is discovered in a personal relationship with God. His name is Jesus!

Biblical faith comes from a living relationship with The living, almighty God.

Faith, True faith, is the confident adherence to God and His Word in spite of circumstances and the consequences of circumstances we find ourselves in. We trust Him to do what is right and what is best.
Daniel 3:16-18

Faith is trust in God that enables the believer to press on in the present time/moment knowing that The Lord holds his or her future.
Song: “Because He lives I can face tomorrow….life is worth the living just because He lives!”

1 Samuel 17:45-47
The closer we walk with God, the stronger our faith becomes and the believer with the close walk will grow in conforming to the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Daniel 11:32
Proverbs 3:5-6

“The Lord gives, The Lord takes away, blessed be the name of The Lord”
Job 19:25-27
Job said: “I know My Redeemer lives!”
Job 13:15

Our part in the relationship of faith is to trust God!

Look at how the biblical witnesses in Hebrews 11 trusted God in their circumstances.

Hebrews 12:1-2
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
