It is especially difficult to stay in the hard realities of life when there are so many offers and ways to divert our eyes from ugly things; so many ways to numb the ache in our hearts. Jesus' disciples, who had seen Jesus perform miracle after miracle also had a hard time! They attempted to divert Jesus eyes from the rejection and conflict He was experience. They were asking Him to look at the magnificent temple complex. But Jesus had to bring them back to the certain, inevitable suffering and destruction as a result of rejecting God's salvation through Him. In Luke 21:7-19 we find that: Jesus reveals that believers are to expect hard times but endure.
