Join me later this evening as we continue our series on where and how the Bible contradicts the Trinity. While we realize many have been raised believing in the Trinity, if the Trinity is not actually taught in the Bible it should not be required belief for Christians. Indeed, if what is explicitly taught in the Bible contradicts the Trinity it is best to avoid using it when it comes to worshiping the biblical God.

The fifteenth text we will use to show the Trinity conflicts with the Bible is John 1:9-13, which continues John’s Prologue by presenting the “Word” who was “with God” as “the true light” who “was about to come into the world” (verse 9). Yet, we are also told that prior to this the Word already “was in the world.”

Additionally, like John 1:3, our subject texts teach the Word was the one “through” whom “the world came into existence” (verse 10), and that he “came to his own home” and yet “his own people did not take him in” (verse 11). Still, those who did believe “in his name” were given “authority to become God’s children,” as they are “from God.”—Verses 12-13.

As our discussion this evening will further reveal, when the “Word” was “in the world” before becoming a man it was as the “Angel of Jaho(h)-ah,” “Michael the Archangel,” the “Great Prince” of Israel (Exodus 23:20-23; Jude 1:9; Daniel 12:1). As we will see, this is why John refers to the place to which the Word came as “his own home,” and why John also refers to those to whom the Word came as the Word’s “own people.” The only one to whom these people were given after Jehovah freed the Hebrews from Egypt was the Angel of Jaho(h)-ah, Michael, “the prince of you people.”—Daniel 10:21.

Therefore, it is clear from John 1:9-13 the metaphysics and the identifies involved with the doctrine of the Trinity are in conflict with the Bible, which foretold the Word as the “Angel of Great Counsel” to whom “princely rule” over the nation of Israel would be given.—Isaiah 9:6 (LXX).

Join me to discuss these and other related questions and issues if you can do so with genuine interest and respect.
