Join me later this evening as we continue our series on where and how the Bible contradicts the Trinity.

While we realize many have been raised believing in the Trinity, If the Trinity is not actually taught in the Bible then it should not be required belief for Christians. Indeed, if what is explicitly taught in the Bible contradicts the Trinity it is best to avoid using it when it comes to worshiping the biblical God.

The seventh text we will use to show the Trinity conflicts with the Bible is Hebrews 1:10-12, which follows the initial pattern set early on in Hebrews 1, where the author uses texts originally applied to others (human kings) for the Son of God since his resurrection (Hebrews 1:5 and 1:8-9). This is done to show how the Son has “become better than the angels” (Hebrews 1:4) because of the “name” he inherits after being raised to God’s right hand (Hebrews 1:3). This new “name” is related to the position to which he is exalted by God.--Philippians 2:9-11.

In Hebrews 1:10-12 the betterment of the Son over the angels since his resurrection is again made plain by showing the Son is immortal, that “his years will never run out” unlike all other creations, including angels…but not including those raised to life with the Son. They are also “better” than the angels for the same reasons, after becoming immortal (1 Corinthians 15:54), as they must die like him after which they are raised to life as he is.—1 John 3:2.

We will discuss all of these things and more, including the application of Psalm 102:25-27 in Hebrews 1:10-12, and what that tells us not only about the Son since his resurrection but also about his role in creation before he became a man.

Please join me to discuss these texts, if you can do so with genuine interest and respect.
