One theme constantly reinforced in Scripture is that God is sovereignly true in His Word and purpose. That is, everything that God has declared in His Word, God has ensured its fulfillment.

God has taught us in His Word that everything He has done from eternity past to present day and on in to the future has been done, is being done, and will be done for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. To this end, the works of God are seen clearly in Genesis 25:1-26 as God fulfills His promises to Abraham by ensuring his son Isaac receives the covenant blessings. Moreover, God ensures the reception of covenant promises to Isaac’s youngest son, Jacob, who will later on be renamed, “Israel.”
