Prelude
Welcome and Announcements Dr. Drew DiNardo
*Call to Worship (Adapted from Psalm 105)
ONE:Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations
what he has done.
ALL: Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
ONE: Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
ALL: Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
*Invocation
*Hymn 94 “How Firm A Foundation”
1. How firm a foundation, you saints of the Lord,
is laid for your faith in his excellent Word!
What more can he say than to you he has said,
to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
2. "Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed;
for I am your God, and will still give you aid;
I'll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand,
upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
3. "When through the deep waters I call you to go,
the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow;
for I will be with you, your troubles to bless,
and sanctify to you your deepest distress.
4. "When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie,
my grace, all-sufficient, shall be your supply;
the flame shall not hurt you; I only design
your dross to consume and your gold to refine.
5. "E'en down to old age all my people shall prove
my sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
and when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn,
like lambs they shall still in my bosom be borne.

6. "The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to his foes;
that soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never, no never, no never forsake."
*Call to Confession (1 John 1:8) Nathan Titus, Pastoral Intern
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God.
*Prayer of Confession (from The Book of Common Worship, 1946)
Almighty God, who does freely pardon all who repent and turn to Him, now
fulfill in every contrite heart the promise of redeeming grace; forgiving all our
sins, and cleansing us from an evil conscience; through the perfect sacrifice
of Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
*Words of Assurance
*The Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

Sermon “The Church’s Foundation: God’s Word” Dr. Drew DiNardo
*Hymn 140 “O Word of God Incarnate”
1. O Word of God Incarnate,
O Wisdom from on high,
O Truth unchanged, unchanging,
O light of our dark sky;
we praise thee for the radiance
that from the hallowed page,
a lantern to our footsteps
shines on from age to age.

2. The church from her dear Master
received the gift divine,
and still that light she lifteth
o'er all the earth to shine.
It is the golden casket,
where gems of truth are stored;
it is the heav'n-drawn picture
of Christ, the living Word.
3. It floateth like a banner
before God's host unfurled;
it shineth like a beacon
above the darkling world.
It is the chart and compass
that o'er life's surging sea,
'mid mists and rocks and quicksands,
still guides, O Christ, to thee.
4. O make thy church, dear Savior,
a lamp of purest gold,
to bear before the nations
thy true light, as of old.
O teach thy wand'ring pilgrims
by this their path to trace,
till, clouds and darkness ended,
they see thee face to face.
*Benediction
