God’s Gracious Work
2 Thessalonians 2:3-12
Halifax: 18 February 2018, 10:30 am

Last week in our sermon series from 2 Thessalonians, we came to chapter 2.
- I did a brief overview of the whole chapter:
- that Paul urges them not to listen to those saying the day of Christ has come…
- that he explains that a great apostasy must come first…
- that he is sure that the Thess. are truly in Christ and will be with Him in glory.

- Then we zeroed in on what it means to be gathered to Christ in that day.
- This is our great hope as God’s people.
- We have always been identified as those who are gathered to Christ.
- Our weekly gathering is in anticipation of that.

This week, we will look at the great apostasy of which Paul prophecies in this chapter.
- This is reputed to be a very difficult passage to interpret.
- But happily the things we need to understand are clear.
- I will endeavour to bring out the clear teaching and not get lost in the hard things.
