‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.

Good morning! Here is today’s word of blessings for you.
Revelation 4:7-11

7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
“‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,’
who was, and is, and is to come.”
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

Today’s title is “The Heavenly Worship”

What is the chief purpose of man? This is the first question of the Westminster Shorter Catechism. Do you remember the answer for it? The answer is “Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.” Then how can we glorify and enjoy God forever? In fact, that’s pretty much the same as the second question of Catechism. For the precise answer to the question, you may refer to the Catechism. But let me deviate a little bit from the precise and correct answer to address what seems an issue in heaven. As we see the glory of the heaven that God has opened up for us, we cannot but feel that the best way to glorify and enjoy God forever is nothing but to worship Him. God’s throne is so glorious and gorgeous. God who is seated on the throne has an appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. The twenty-four elders, I believe, represent us. They were sinners like us but their sins were washed away by the blood of the Lamb. God prepared thrones for each of them and crowned them with Golden Crown. I believe the golden crown is the crown of righteousness that the Apostle said in 2nd Timothy. “6For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:6-8). Seating on a throne before the throne of God wearing the crown of righteousness, what can you do? We can just give glory to God and the Lamb saying You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power “like the four creatures that were most close to God. The more you see God’s glory and power, the greater you will become filled with love and praises, and thanksgiving for Him. What can you do but worship Him? We are surely looking forward to the day that we will worship God and the Lamb before the throne like the elders and four creatures. But even on earth before we reach heaven, we want to get used to such true worship, don’t we?
