After Bildad's response, Job speaks out against the charge of not following God. The problem, however, is that the view of God expressed by Job's friends is something that he is now beginning to view differently. Job tells his friends that they have misunderstood him. They have wrongly perceived his words as just a complaint against God for going through suffering. Job clarifies by stating that he believes that God should explain Himself as to why he is experiencing this amount of suffering when he believes he is innocent of any sin against God for such suffering.

Job asserts that, even though He believes that God needs to explain Himself, God has no desire to do this (9:1-4). God cares more about His own . . .

Factor #1: Authority (9:5-13)
Factor #2: Behavior (9:14-24)
Factor #3: Justice (9:25-35)
Factor #4: Sovereignty (10:1-21)

. . . causing him to feel . . .

Feeling #1: Resentment - because God's Power compared to mine is Unfair (9:5-13)
Feeling #2: Powerlessness - because God's Actions compared to what I would do is Unfair (9:14-24)
Feeling #3: Hopelessness - because God's Decisions compared to my desires is Unfair (9:25-35)
Feeling #4: Outrage - because God's Perspective compared to how I evaluate myself and my life is Unfair (10:1-21)

The reality is that God cares very much for Job, even though Job is not seeing that right now.
