In the closing part of the parable the husbandmen (aka the parable of the Vineyard) is so plainly presented that the whole audience is carried away; and when Christ asked, “What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?” [Everyone replied] with one voice, “He will miserably destroy those wicked men. Matthew 21:42.

Jesus went on to say: "Did ye never read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?” Matthew 21:42

Then he applies the lesson: “The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. Matthew 21:43

"Year after year the wicked husbandmen occupied God’s vineyard, and year after year God looked in vain for fruit. His messengers were shamefully treated. His beloved Son was crucified. The unfaithful husbandmen appropriated to their own use the goods entrusted to them.

Has this parable any application at this time?
