In Matthew 14:16-21 we see the miraculous feeding of the 5,000. This is one of the most famous miracles of Jesus, and it is also DEEPLY symbolic. Consider how there are FIVE loaves and TWO fish. What might these two numbers represent? Or consider how there are TWELVE leftover baskets. Very often in Scripture, numbers have a deeply symbolic meaning, and this miracle is a great example of that.
