Nutshell:
The closing aspect of the fruit of the Spirit is selfmastery, Gal 5:22. We might call it the keeper of the uni-basket. Passion is that impulse that arises in us, demanding to be satisfied, contrary to controlling ourselves under God’s rule. The battle can’t be avoided, but losing the battle can.

Context: David committing adultery with Bathsheba.

(2 Sam 11:4) And David sent messengers, and he took her. And

sanctifying herself from her uncleanness. Then she returned to her house.
