The Sure Promises Of God : Fortress & Deliverer

It is satan’s aim to frame God as undependable and untrustworthy, so that you will not feel comfortable in placing your trust in him. He whispers consistently in your mind questions about the veracity of the statements of provision and protection that God lays out clearly in his word, and he plants the seed of doubt as to whether God will do these these things for you.
These poisonous whisperings are calculated to detach you from recognizing that God is an actual person who values you and wants the absolute best for you, and instead, have a pagan concept of God as a tyrant whom you must continually appease with endless sacrifice and continual personal suffering to atone for your sins.
But this never was and never shall be who God is.
God is not simply a power, he is a person, it’s his character that defines him, not his power.
Satan causes us to focus with fear only on God’s power, because he paints that power as an uncontrollable wrath that is seeking destruction of evildoers and those who make mistakes, but this is not how God works neither is it the defining characteristic of God.
God is a person who is interested wholly in your welfare and he has the power to make a change in your life, he is in control of his power and not the power in control of him, as a matter of fact there is no division between his power, personality and character. But when his power is painted as wrathful his character is perceived as tyrannical and his personality is viewed as a fraud, that God is only pretending to care, so that he will catch us slipping. And all of these lies are whispered in our ears to get us to not trust Gods word, because God always keeps his word, he does not and cannot lie, if God was to lie he will cease to exist and everything along with him, he is the absolute form of truth, therefore he sustains everything in existence by his word because his character is dependable, consistent, truthful and he always does exactly what he says he will do.
Because he loves you he promises you that ALL of his power is at your disposal, his love is the promise of his power made available to you through his word.
He is a refuge that offers comfort hope and assurance that you can run to everyday all the time, and he is a fortress that offers security, and deliverance from the pestilence, of guilt, shame, hurt, self doubt, and all the other external challenges that we face, he is a fortress that protects us from every snare and trap of the devil that has been artfully laid to cause our demise and to break our faith in Christ. He is your refuge, fortress and deliverer and no one can pluck you out of his hand.
