While his opponents fail to recognize Jesus for who he is, Jesus warns his followers of those who give only the appearance of faithfulness. When a poor widow makes a small contribution, Jesus commends her generosity and faith. We need remember that God looks at the heart and, though our efforts may not be celebrated by others, God sees and recognizes our faith.
