"There's Pleasure in Sin for a Season", Judges 14:8-9 (NKJV)- Pastor, Dr. Jerome F. Coleman
Sermon Series- "Samson: A Wasted Life of Power"
- The more you indulge sin, the more it will control every aspect of your life.
- Samson had an eye problem. Lust was a besetting sin for Samson. Kept tripping him up.
- You need some people that can come up beside you when that besetting sin creeps up.
- Samson was a functional sinner. The things you thought you had control of, starts to take control of you.
- Whenever you look at lust, it's about what you can get, not what you can give.
- Do you have enough faith to want something, but walk away from it when God says you can't have it?
- A besetting sin needs no temptation, instead it'll create the occasion.
- Samson didn't look like anything he'd been through. Maybe that was part of the issues. God delivers so well sometimes.
- "What happens in the vineyard doesn't stay in the vineyard, because the vineyard is inside of you."
- "We're the strongest after our weakness." That's your remorse, not repentance. That's your feelings.
- When you focus on Him, you can focus on your calling and the One who called you. Your faith will keep you from places your feelings want to take you.
