Far from suggesting that blood sacrifice was not necessary for Israel to enjoy God's favor in the wilderness, Vos interprets Amos 5:25 as teaching that when God's favor is withdrawn from his apostate and unrepentant people, there remains no sacrifice to prevent the threatened exile.
