What an exciting lesson on the judgment of the rebellion in Numbers 16. This lesson helps us to see the nature of God as well as the nature of His creation.

After the blatanly rebellious accusation of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, Moses let’s the Lord decide who is called to lead. In response, God carries out Moses’ command to have the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up!

The three men, their wives, children, little ones, and possessions went down alive into the pit. The earth closed upon them and they perished from among the congregation.

The remaining 250 rebellious men who joined in challenging Moses was consumed by fire from the Lord. The very next day the congregation blamed Moses for killing the people.
