As we enter the year 2026, America and the world are searching for a special treasure—and that treasure is peace. But peace is often misunderstood. Peace is not placidity. Peace is not tranquility. Peace is not stoic silence or cowering before intimidation. Peace is not the absence of tension. You can be silent on the outside and boiling on the inside, and that is not peace. If you are looking for something and cannot define it, you will never recognize it when it arrives.
The Apostle Paul gives us clarity when he writes, “If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” Notice the condition—if possible. Sometimes it is not possible. Peace does not mean surrendering your convictions or abandoning responsibility. A new and exciting year lies before us. Decide to make 2026 your best year. Dare to be driven by your dreams, not mastered by your problems. Choose love over hatred, compassion over indifference, hope over despair—and be at peace.
