Jesus makes some very startling statements in Matthew 7:21-23 "21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ NAS

Jesus is clearly talking about entering the kingdom of heaven. He mentions this twice in verse 21, "will enter the kingdom of heaven," and "will enter." Only those that do the will of the Father will be able to enter. These individuals that will stand before God at the Great White Throne judgment will selfishly argue with Jesus by boasting about their lifetime resume of good works, e.g., prophesying, casting out demons, and performing many miracles, all in the name of Jesus. How could all these works not be the will of the Father since they were done in the name of Jesus? They referred to Jesus as Lord, Lord. What does this have to do with the statement that Jesus made, "he who does the will of My Father will enter?" By this statement, Jesus unquestionably says that their is something that must be done to go to heaven, but what is it? What is the will of the Father? Is it one thing or many? Does this statement have anything to do with performing any good works to get have access to heaven?
