(Sermon for 9/26/2021) Sermon Notes:
"The first new testament church in Acts was comprised of "My People". These are some of their characteristics:
1. A Learning Church Acts 2:42A, “they gladly received his Word” (Peter teaching the word of God), “they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine. Notice it did not say they continued steadfastly in a political party’s teaching, the media’s teaching, etc. Reference: The Word (of God) should be instructions for “Everyday Life”, 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Teach the Word, then let the people make the decision whether to follow it or not, 2 Timothy 4:1-5.
2. A Fellowshipping Church, v. 42B, “…fellowship and breaking of bread..”.
3. A Praying Church, v. 42C, “…and in prayers”.
4. A Reverent Church, v. 43A, “And fear came upon every soul”.
5. An Expectant Church, v. 43B, “…and many wonders and signs… Reference: Psalm 37:1-5.
6. A Sharing Church, v. 44-45
7. A Worshipping Church, v. 46, “…continuing daily” (NLT: They worshiped together)
8. A Happy Church, v. 46, “…with gladness…
9. A Contagious Church, v. 47, A healthy Christian community/church attracts people to Christ. The Jerusalem church’s zeal/passion for worship and brotherly love was contagious! A healthy, loving church will grow.


After these things happens (1-9), the church will become A Soul Saving Church. V. 47, “And the Lord added to the church daily…”. What are you (what am I) doing to make this church a CONTAGIOUS, SOUL SAVING CHURCH?
