According to the KJV, Colossians 2:9 refers to “all the fulness of the Godhead” dwelling “bodily” in Jesus. The NIV says, “all the fulness of the Deity lives in bodily form” in Jesus. The NWT translates this part of Colossians 2:9, “all the fulness of the divine quality” dwells bodily in Jesus. What do these translations mean by, “Godhead,” “the Deity,” and, “the divine quality”? These are translations of the Greek term, THEOTETOS.

What does it mean when Paul writes that THEOTETOS lives “bodily” in Jesus? Is this a reference to the Father working through Jesus as a man who was “made lower than the gods/angels” (John 14:6-11; Psalm 8:5-6; Hebrews 2:7-9)? Or is it a reference to him as a divine “life-giving spirit” (1 Corinthians 15:45) since his resurrection? This “bodily” form is described for us in detail in Revelation 1:10-16, which is nearly identical to other spirits described in Daniel Chapter 10:4-7?

The answers to these questions are provided in this video.
