Israel had gone to war against Benjamin, because the tribe was harboring the men of Gibeah who had performed a horrific act against a concubine of a Levite. This was a war that God approved of, yet in two battles, the vastly smaller army of Benjamin was winning. Why? In Lesson 59 of our study of Judges we learn the answer to this question.
