GOD HATES SIN:"Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Isaiah 53:10-11 (KJV)

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)

THE THIEF THAT WENT TO HEAVEN:
When Jesus was crucified on "the old rugged cross" there hung a thief on each side of Him. To one he said, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." Like 23:43 Why did one thief go to Heaven and the other to Hell? What did the one do to save his soul?
Remember, his arms and legs were nailed to the Cross, therefore he ...

* could not take communion
* could not be baptized
* could not join a church
* could not read a prayer book
* could not give money to the church or charity
* could not plead his own goodness or try self-improvement
* could not call his pastor or priest

In fact, many acts that some people stress as necessary to salvation he could not perform.

HOWEVER all these "could nots" did not keep him out of heaven. WHY?

HERE ARE THE THINGS THAT HE COULD DO AND DID.
He acknowledged his sin. in Luke 23:41 he said: We (thieves) receive the due rewards of our deeds."

HE BELIEVED AND RECEIVED.
Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved."
Romans 10:9 "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
WHAT THE REPENTANT THIEF DID, YOU CAN DO ALSO.
YOU CAN TAKE THESE THREE STEPS RIGHT NOW.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." Acts 16:31
