The Light of the World - John 8:12-30 (Nov 29, 2020)

Truth Bible Church is a non-denominational Bible Church in California, Maryland.   We are followers of Jesus Christ seeking to love God supremely, serve one another sincerely, and reach the lost urgently! (Matthew 22:37-39, 28:18-20).  The Biblical gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life to give sinners righteousness (right standing before God), died a sacrificial death to grant justification/forgiveness (payment for sins that frees us from the coming wrath and justice of God), and was raised from the dead by a victorious resurrection that guarantees eternal life to those who REPENT of their sins (Mark 1:15, Acts 17:30, 20:21, 26:20, Hebrews 6:1-2), by FAITH are believing and trusting in Jesus alone for salvation/reconciliation with God (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-6), and who have committed their lives to love, know, serve, follow, and worship Jesus as their personal LORD (Romans 10:9-13)

Pastor Chad Laird does a part two of this sermon topic where he studies the account in John 8:12-30 where Jesus is teaching in the temple. Ten bold claims made by Jesus in this exchange are examined: 
 
1. Jesus’ Bold claim: “I am the light of the world”. 
2. Jesus’ bold requirement: whoever follows me WILL NOT walk in darkness. 
3. Jesus’ bold promise: (he who follows me) will have the light of life. 
4. Jesus bold defense: “My testimony and judgment is true (and backed up by the Father). 
5. Jesus bold rebuttal: You don’t know me and you don’t know my Father (this is leading up to the big reveal later on - the conclusion of the chapter where he says, I and the Father are ONE). 
6. Jesus bold judgment: you will die in your sins and you cannot come where I am going (heaven). 
7. Jesus bold contrast: you are from below, I am from above, you are of this world, I am not of this world. 
8. Jesus bold demand: You must believe I am the I AM – or you will die/perish in your sins. 
9. Jesus bold confirmation: (Who are you? …what I have been telling you from the beginning). 
10. Jesus bold prophecy: They will lift up (crucify) the Son of Man, only then will they know that He is the I AM (Son of God). Sermon

I'm a Minister, Evangelist, and Apologist of the Word of God and the Gospel of our Lord God Jesus Christ. I am an ex-mystic, occultist, and practitioner of witchcraft. I was into the occult for 16 years. My Lord Jesus Christ saved me by His shed blood, and now I work at exposing the Occult.
Now by the grace of God I preach Salvation by Grace through Faith alone, not of works (James 2 is not for salvation). Also, I preach once saved always saved, you cannot lose your salvation (Ephesians 4:30), otherwise again your belief would be then about works and maintenance of salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9/Titus 3:5/Galatians 2:16) and that is against the Word of God (Galatians 1:8-9)

Daily Prayer; March 27, 2019; Psalm 5, Jer 8:4-7, 18-9:6; Rom 5:1-11; John 8:12-20

Every person is given the ability to control thought life by the creator. A person that believes it is possible to accept or reject each thought can identify and control unproductive futile thoughts. A way to do this is described in God/s Living Word. Leaning to apply this information in a practical way requires effort. That effort God requires from human beings is clearly communicated, it is not complicated. There are two requirements, one is an attitude and one is an action. 1. Believe that God exists 2. Earnestly seek Him.
The promise from God is that when a person engages in believing and seeking a reward is earned. The reward is a deep change in character equal to repentance. In this way the earnest desire is satisfied when the seeker arrives at the position required by God for the reward to be given.
