Call to Worship: Psalm 146:1-2, 10
*Hymn of Praise: O Worship The King, Trinity Hymnal No. 13
*Prayer of Adoration and Invocation
*Public Confession of Sin
Our Father, you are the Maker of all things and the supreme Judge of the universe. On that final day before your seat of judgment each one must stand and give a reckoning for his life. All things done in the body, whether good or evil, will be weighed in the celestial balance. This you have confirmed by raising Jesus from the dead, yet we have sinned by neglecting this truth. Too often we have disregarded the final judgment with careless flippancy, slack forgetfulness, or thoughtless inattention. Our hearts have been prone to wander, our spirits disposed to drift, and our souls inclined to deviate from the ways of Christ. By those well-worn gospel roads we have not stood and looked. For those ancient paths we have not asked. To that good way we have not aspired as you instruct us. When refusing to walk in your ways, we have endured unrest in our souls. We are in need of your mercy. Please forgive us for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
