Lessons from Jeremiah’s Belt
Jeremiah 13:1-11

1. Go and buy a linen belt
2. put it around your waist, but do not let it touch water
3. Take the belt hide it there in a crevice in the rocks.
4. Many days later I went and dug up the belt and it was ruined and completely useless.

Point 1: The word of the LORD came to me
Jeremiah 13:1-7

God speaks through illustrations, parables, analogies…etc. and even through role plays.
God is speaking…. Are we listening.


Point 2: I will ruin the pride of Judah
Jeremiah 13:8-9

a… The king did not want to humble himself before Jeremiah.
b… God is determined to bring about the ruin.

Point 3: These wicked people refuse to listen
Jeremiah 13:10

The people have become wicked…
Their wickedness was against God.

Point 4: As a belt around a man’s waist.
Jeremiah 13:11

Like a Harness…
1… a system of restraints for protection
2… a set of straps and fittings to be controlled by its driver.
