Ezekiel 19:10-2 Chronicles : . Judah the Vine.— The figure changes, as in Genesis 49:8-2 Kings :, from lion to vine, and the king whose destiny is foreshadowed is this time Zedekiah. Judah is described as a fruitful vine, one of whose mighty branches (Zedekiah) became a royal sceptre ( Ezekiel 19:11). The Withering of the Vine. “Your mother was like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters. She was fruitful and full of branches, by reason of many waters. And she had strong rods for the sceptres of those who bare rule, and their stature was raised high among the thick boughs.
