That is the Gospel in brief. Listen! There's Someone at the door. Who is it? It's none other than the Lord of life and glory, the One who died as a Substitute for us and rose again the third day - the One who is now enthroned in glory and coming soon to take His people home to be with Himself. Tell Him to come in!

To be indifferent about the coming of Christ, is to be indifferent about the most sacred interests of humanity. If the apostles looked upon the advent of Christ as the hope of the world, and knew of no greater benefit that they could bestow upon mankind than to offer up this prayer in faith, we may well adopt their sentiment and follow their example. Let this prayer never die on our lips while we have breath: " Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come quickly !"

All things on earth need to be renewed. No created thing continueth by itself. "Thou renewest the face of the year," was the Psalmist's utterance.
