It pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.

Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” § “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. § Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. § For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. § Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him. § My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. § My Elect One in whom My soul delights!
