The Rock of Our Salvation is a readable survey of all aspects of the character and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. His treatment is extremely valuable, and even when the author simply lists information, the reader will find much encouragement. Each chapter has either numbered applications, direct exhortations to turn to Christ and depend entirely upon Him for salvation and every needed blessing, or the author’s prayer-response to the material he has covered.
William Swan Plumer (1802-1880) was an American Presbyterian minister. His commentaries on Psalms and Romans are widely appreciated. The Rock of Our Salvation was first published in 1867 and has been completely re-typeset for this edition.
