When it seems like you’ve hit a dead end in life and everywhere you turn the walls are closing in on you, remember that God loves to work in the impossible. Isaiah 63:12-13 says: “Who caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, Who divided the waters before them to make for Himself an everlasting name, Where is the one who led them through the bottom of the sea? They were like fine stallions racing through the desert, never stumbling.” Stop looking at the situation all around you. Instead look up, to the God above you. He’ll have you breaking through like a stallion through dry sea!

In our fast-paced world, time can seem to fly by faster than ever before. And with all the pressures surrounding us, anxiety is at an all time high. But listen to Christ’s words in Luke 12:25-26: “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” Worry and stress never add time, they take time. Leave your worries with God. Take the time from stressing, and spend it with Him instead. He’ll not just add better hours for today, but eternal hours in the life to come.

God actually invites you to give it all to Him. So take up His offer today. Relieve the pressure of your present, for He cares for you.

Have you ever been called to something in life, but you just didn’t feel ready, worthy, or just not interested in the responsibility? So we decline, with a list of logical reasons, to convince ourselves it’s not for us. Listen to the prophet Jeremiah in chapter 1 verse 6: “O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!” Get this. God actually spoke directly to Jeremiah, calling him to be a prophet to a nation in need. And Jeremiah’s initial and natural response was an excuse to say no. God is calling on you. Stop using your own excuses to limit what He wants to do in your life today.

Too often, that includes Christians, who have been called to stand up and stand out. Paul says in Galatians 6:17: From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus. Do you bear the marks of following Jesus? Can people notice that Christ is your Lord? If not, I encourage you to invite Him into your heart today and let the world see Jesus in you.

But listen to what God says in Isaiah 60:22: “The smallest one will become a clan, And the least one a mighty nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.” Ever feel like you’re too small to be heard or make a difference? In your own power, you are. But with God in control, you’re just the perfect size to make a world of a difference.

But 2 Corinthians 5:7 says

Let’s face it. Even as Christians, we have times when we have no peace amidst the trials of our life. Yet the Bible promises peace to all who believe. Isaiah 26:3 says “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Perfect peace is promised… if we TRUST in Him. And we trust in Him… by keeping our thoughts FIXED on Him. Where are your thoughts today? Are they fixed on God, or do they just touch on Him a few moments of the day? Keep your mind FIXED on Him, and find His perfect peace today.

Curious what God’s throne room is like? Psalms 89:14 says: 
 
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants.” 
 
Righteousness, justice, love and truth surround Him. Want to show the world a glimpse of heaven? Live righteously. Fight for justice. Love unfailingly. And stand for truth. Too often, Christians attempt to pick and choose which of these they’ll follow. But each are connected, interwoven by faith. So that we can show the world, the true character of God.

It seems amazing that for all the thousands, if not, millions of laws, across all nations, around this world, we still can’t seem to just get along. Where’s the answer for all the hatred and intolerance that surrounds us? In five simple words, Jesus prescribed the perfect cure. 
 
Matthew‬ ‭22:39: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’‬‬‬ 
 
Care to make a better world? Jesus says to start next door. Who’s your neighbor? It’s time to find out!

Too often, we get caught up in what someone else is doing or isn’t doing. We wait for someone else to make a move before we do. Or we justify our inactions because no one else taking action. But when God calls you, you have but one option. Move. 
 
‭‭John 21:21-22: Jesus replied, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? As for you, follow me.”‬‬ 
 
When we barely understand our own life’s path, why do we so often base our decisions on the path of someone else. Jesus declares, “What’s their journey to you? What you need to focus on, is to follow me.” Can you hear Him calling today? Don’t look to others, don’t even look to yourself, just look to Him, and follow today.

Refresh | John 21:21-22

I’ve heard people say that the church needs to stay out of the fight for social injustice, because it’s a political battle. But they couldn’t be more wrong. Injustice isn’t a political fight, it’s a spiritual battle. 
 
Luke 3:19: John also publicly criticized Herod Antipas, the ruler of Galilee, for marrying Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for many other wrongs he had done. 
 
John the Baptist was the most prolific preacher at the time, and he publicly denounced the evils of Herod, the ruler of his nation. Was John getting political? No. But he forcefully stood for truth against the evil of a political leader. When you stand against political leaders of injustice, you are not being political, you are being Christian.

Refresh | Luke 3:19

At the root of so many of life’s problems is the hidden culprit of pride. Even those we may consider humble, we find pride themselves in their humility! And pride corrupts our vision, understanding, and emotions. 
 
John 3:29-30: It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the bridegroom’s friend is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. 
 
There was no more successful preacher at that time than John the Baptist. Yet, as he met Christ, he was filled with joy at Jesus success. Is pride preventing joy in your life today? Turn to Jesus, and find true success in His joy.

People sometimes argue whether there is more suffering in the world today, or if we are just more aware of the suffering, due to the proliferation of cameras broadcasting online. But what can’t be argued is the reality of pain, sorrow and suffering. Take heart. 
 
Psalm 30:5 says: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. 
 
No matter how long your sorrowful night may seem, it will end with the joy of His morning.

Matthew 10:32-33 says: Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven. 
 
We "confess" Christ not by just holding up a Bible for all to see, or taking on the name Christian, but in following His commands, such as to love our neighbors as ourselves. In a racially divided and prejudiced society, will you "confess" Christ, in how you treat others, so that He may also confess you in heaven?

In the face of heartbreaking scenes of a people persecuted, and social upheaval, the Church is called to stand tall and shine TRUTH into the DARKNESS of this world. We cannot watch for mere moments in sympathy, but continue to drive by, on our way to worship, as if it was a roadside accident. 
 
Amos‬ ‭5:23-24‬ ‭ 
“AWAY with your NOISY hymns of praise! I will NOT LISTEN to the music of your harps. Instead, I want to see a MIGHTY FLOOD of JUSTICE, an ENDLESS RIVER of RIGHTEOUS LIVING.”
